Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jones Zica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture. Zica comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Master of Puppets by Metallica kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jones Zica!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zica scores with a punch to the head.
Zica takes a jab right on the kisser.
Connor gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Zica tries to kick Connor off but Connor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Connor thows a huge punch but Zica dodges it nicely.
Connor is looking to take a break and control but Zica is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zica manages to get to full guard.
Connor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zica throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Zica tries to clinch but Connor is having none of it.
Zica misses with an uppercut.
Zica tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Connor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zica misses the shot to the body.
Connor gets a clinch.
Connor gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connor is fighting to break Zica's control of his arms but Zica is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Zica wants to stand but Connor is controlling the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jones Zica hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Connor moves into the clinch successfully.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zica wants to get up but he can't break Connor's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Zica drives through and clinches with Connor against the cage.
Connor drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Zica gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Zica tries a body shot but Connor blocks it.
Connor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Connor shoots in looking for a takedown. Zica tries to sprawl out of it but Connor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zica manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Zica goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Zica moves into range and connects with a jab.
Jones Zica is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Connor throws a good cross that connects.
Connor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zica throws out the jab.

Zica avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Zica throws a leg kick which misses Connor's front leg but catches the back leg as Connor tries to avoid it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Zica has a couple of punches blocked by Connor.
Zica wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Connor fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Connor swings wildly with an uppercut but Zica uses good head movement to avoid it.
Connor changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zica fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Zica smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Zica works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Zica moves out of range of the strikes.

Connor steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zica.
Connor slips a jab from Zica.
Zica just misses with a punch to the body.
Zica moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Zica throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zica swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Connor closes the distance and clinches up with Zica, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes Zica against the cage but Zica circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Zica fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Connor, pushing him back against the cage.
Connor lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Connor can't break the clinch.
Connor has hold of one of Zica's legs. Zica is fighting the takedown attempt but Connor gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Connor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zica swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zica looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Connor looking to sit in guard and control but Zica gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
John Connor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jones Zica showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Zica lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Connor.

Connor has Zica pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Connor pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Zica tumbling to the mat - Connor dives into Zica's guard.
Connor stands and throws Zica's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Zica is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Connor has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Connor cracks Zica with a big right hand but Zica just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Connor postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Connor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zica is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Connor in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Connor swings around for an armbar but Zica sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Connor's guard.
Connor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zica defends it easily.
Zica advances position into side control!
Connor is looking for a sweep.
Zica in side control, throwing shots but Connor defends.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zica has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Connor fails in his attempt to clinch.
Connor misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice takedown defense from Zica. No joy for Connor on that attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Connor moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A big left from Zica misses.
Zica scores with a one two! Connor had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zica throws a quick inside leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zica throws a looping overhand right but Connor ducks down to avoid it.
Connor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zica tries to avoid it but Connor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zica to the ground. Zica escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zica tries to clinch there but Connor circles away.
Connor takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
And that's the end of the fight!
Jones Zica comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Zica has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
