Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domonick Smitty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh William!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Domonick Smitty!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smitty jabs William right on the nose. William blinks but takes it well.
Smitty shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Smitty lands a nice shot to the body.
Smitty scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
William shoots in for a takedown but Smitty shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smitty throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch combination from Smitty misses.
William tries a head kick but it misses.
William swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
William fails to land the takedown.
Smitty lands with a nice combination. William backs away looking to recover.
William tries to clinch up but Smitty circles away and keeps his distance.
Horrible takedown by William or perhaps it was just good defense by Smitty which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh William. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smitty throws a combination. William tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Smitty moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Josh William seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smitty tries to clinch but William moves out of range.
Smitty lands a straight punch to the body, keeping William at a distance.
William fails with the takedown.

William throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smitty's waist but Smitty gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing William off to one side.
Smitty stuffs the takedown attempt from William. William gets slowly back to his feet.
William takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Smitty defends well against a solid takedown attempt from William.
William is breathing heavily.
William shoots in looking for a takedown. Smitty tries to sprawl out of it but William keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smitty manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Smitty fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Smitty sizes up William with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Smitty lands with a nice combination. William backs away looking to recover.
William fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smitty avoids it really well and circles away.
Smitty throws a right and a left that William avoids nicely.
Smitty digs a good body shot into William's ribs.

Smitty throws a series of punches but William avoids them all with ease.
Smitty misses with a two punch combination.
Smitty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but William circles away quickly and effectively.
Smitty misses with a leg kick.

William closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
William is looking for a takedown.

William breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smitty lands with an uppercut that bounces William off the cage and back into range.
No luck for William with that takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smitty throws a right and a left that William avoids nicely.
Smitty just misses with a punch to the body.
Smitty fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
William scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Smitty utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
William throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
William is working Smitty over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
William passes Smitty's left leg - he's now in half guard.
William content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
William thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smitty's head.
Smitty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with William. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

William decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
William misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
William throws a right hand that Smitty ducks under and follows up with a left that Smitty also avoids with ease.
Smitty blocks a head kick by William.
William tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smitty swats him away and circles back towards the center.
William looks for a takedown but Smitty sprawls well.
Smitty lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Smitty.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
William lands a jab-cross combination.
William tries to bum rush Smitty with a series of wild strikes but Smitty uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Smitty is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down William rather than just go for the knockout.
No joy there for William, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Josh William will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Smitty will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

William tries to clinch up.
William is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
William closes the distance and clinches up with Smitty, looking for a takedown. William pushes Smitty against the cage but Smitty circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Smitty avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
William shoots in for a takedown but Smitty shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Smitty pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces William back to the cage. Smitty follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Domonick Smitty seems to be getting the better of the standup.
William looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Smitty throws a nice looking combination but William bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Smitty is looking to escape.

William is trying to control the action in half guard but Smitty is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
William has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
William trying to control but Smitty is having none of it.
William breaks from Smitty's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

William is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Smitty is forced to tap! Great finish!
