PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sampo Jampo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogers comes to the cage accompanied by I Am A Real American. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jampo blocks a head kick by Rogers.
Rogers gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Steve Rogers has been cut.
Jampo misses with a double jab.
Jampo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jampo throws out a loose jab but Rogers uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jampo drops Rogers with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rogers looks back up at him and smiles so Jampo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Rogers gets a clinch.
Jampo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jampo misses with a punch to the body.
Rogers misses with a punch to the body.
Rogers tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Jampo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Jampo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Jampo digs a right hand underneath Rogers's ribcage. Rogers let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jampo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rogers's elbow.
Rogers trying to control the position but instead, Jampo has worked for underhooks and has pushed Rogers into the cage.
Jampo throws a big uppercut that drops Rogers! More strikes from Jampo and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rogers lies dazed against the cage as Jampo celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sampo Jampo!
Our winner, Sampo Jampo, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
