Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Casta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Casta sprawls well initially but Doe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Casta avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Doe.
Doe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Casta is just riding it out for now. Doe eventually gives up the hold.
Casta moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doe connects with a couple of short punches.

Doe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Casta dives on top into guard.
Doe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Casta pushes down on Doe's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Doe wants to get back to his feet.
Doe tries to get to full guard but Casta has control of the leg.

Casta is keen to just control but Doe is a slippery customer.

Casta wants to take Doe's back here but Doe is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Casta wants to control the pace but Doe is squirming around nicely.
Doe is trying to escape the mount but Casta keeps good control and instead manages to take Doe's back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that John Doe will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A big right from Doe misses.
Doe pushes Casta up against the cage in a clinch.

Doe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Casta slaps away a takedown attempt from Doe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Casta scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Doe takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Casta scores with a nice strike.
Doe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A nice combination there by Casta.

Doe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Casta but Casta pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alexandre Casta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Doe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Casta is fending him off so far but Doe persists. Nope, Casta circles away and we're back to standing.
Casta misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Casta defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Doe.
Doe takes the fight into the clinch.
Doe scores with a nice hook to the head.
Casta jumps guard but Doe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Doe gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Casta keeping moving, preventing Doe from controlling successfully.
Casta looking for a sweep. Not yet Casta, not yet.
Casta has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doe wants to control from the top but Casta keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Doe.
Nice uppercut lands for Casta. That snapped Doe's head back.
John Doe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Casta works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Doe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Casta quickly recovers to half guard.
Casta is not content to let Doe control the position.
Doe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Casta regains full guard. Nicely done.

Doe throws an elbow that misses. Casta uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Doe's guard. Nice move by Casta!
Doe has his foot on Casta's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Casta works his way back into a safe position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doe is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Doe will probably get the nod.

Doe stands up over Casta, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Doe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Doe trying to control the position from guard on top but Casta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Doe tries to free his leg and advance position but Casta is retaining full guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Casta has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Doe should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Casta has tightened it up now! Doe should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
