Pope comes into the arena with LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Kharitonov misses.
Good shot there by Pope.
Pope lands a nice looking body kick.
Kharitonov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kharitonov takes a swing at Pope's ribcage but misses.
The crowd cheers as Pope lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kharitonov doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Sergei Kharitonov has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kharitonov throws a right hand that misses
and Kharitonov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kharitonov is looking to chop away at Pope's legs.
Pope moves away from the strike by Kharitonov.
Pope connects with a body shot.
Pope jabs Kharitonov to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Pope bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pope connects with a nice looking jab.
Kharitonov scores with a decent looking hook.
A jab lands there for Pope.

That has opened up Sergei Kharitonov's cut even more.
Kharitonov throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pope counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Pope lands a big head kick that sends Kharitonov tumbling to the mat! Pope takes a step backwards and waves Kharitonov back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kharitonov throws a looping overhand right but Pope ducks down to avoid it.

Pope sends Kharitonov crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pope is motioning to the referee to let Kharitonov up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Kharitonov is rocked!

The cut above Sergei Kharitonov's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Pope comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kharitonov looks winded!
