PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Limi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Limi fails with a takedown attempt.
Houston misses with a body kick.
Houston circles away from the clinch attempt.
Houston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Limi was well out of range. Poor timing from Houston.
Houston misses the shot to the body.
Houston could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Limi looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Houston has a closed guard, preventing Limi from standing up.
Houston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Limi wants to pass the guard but Houston is keeping the position.
Limi wants to control from the top but Houston keeps moving.
Limi passes Houston's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Limi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Limi seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Limi wants to take a breather but Houston is having none of it.
Limi works his way into full mount!
Limi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Limi has hold of Houston's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Houston manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Houston is bucking up trying to escape but Limi cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Limi is landing with some decent strikes but Houston is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Houston is in all sorts of trouble here.
Houston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Limi on the ground.
Limi is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Houston keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Limi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Houston manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Limi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Limi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Limi trying to control the position but Houston is working away.
Limi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Limi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Houston's shoulder. That is not cool.

Limi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Houston is looking to reverse the position.
Limi controlling the position.
Limi working the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Houston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Limi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Limi stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Houston misses the shot to the body.
Houston misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Limi.
Limi misses with a head kick.
Limi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Houston takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Limi closes the distance and clinches up with Houston, looking for a takedown. Limi pushes Houston against the cage but Houston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Limi looks winded!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Houston thows a body shot but no joy.
Good work by Limi as he checks the leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Houston throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Limi on the side of the head.
Limi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Houston avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Limi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Houston.
Limi closes the distance and clinches up with Houston, looking for a takedown. Limi pushes Houston against the cage but Houston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Houston misses the shot to the body.
Houston throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Limi shoots for a double leg takedown but Houston sprawls well. He's pushed Limi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Houston ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Limi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Houston slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Houston scores with a punch to the head.

Limi is rocked!
Houston feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Limi crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
