Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scrooge Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Pena!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pena wants it to stay on the feet.
Jones misses with a kick to the body.
Pena throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Pena cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Pena fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Pena lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range.

Pena gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Pena lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Pena feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Pena then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Pena throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones misses with a low kick as Pena jumps back.
Jones tries to score with a low kick but Pena moves his leg out of the way.

Pena throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Pena will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Jones throws out a loose jab but Pena uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Jones gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pena.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pena might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jones takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones moves into full mount! Pena won't be happy about that!
Jones throws some wild stikes that Pena manages to avoid easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
