PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Shiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Saenger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Shiba has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Shiba seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Klaus Saenger!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saenger is looking to clinch.

Saenger is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Shiba has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Saenger is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shiba can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shiba is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Saenger gets his way!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Shiba's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Shiba drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Saenger manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shiba has Saenger in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Saenger connects with a nice short shot to Shiba's temple.

Shiba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saenger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Saenger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
