PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Lautakasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norris's entrance music is Scooter - Nesaja. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lautakasa stuffs the takedown attempt from Norris. Norris gets slowly back to his feet.
Lautakasa doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Norris counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lautakasa won't be happy with that.
Lautakasa tries to improve position but can't.
Lautakasa manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Lautakasa thows a huge punch but Norris dodges it nicely.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Norris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lautakasa to the mat! Lautakasa manages to get full guard.
Norris passes Lautakasa's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Norris wants to pass the guard but Lautakasa is defending well.

Norris prevents Lautakasa from improving his position.
Lautakasa is looking to control Norris's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lautakasa avoid being mounted?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lautakasa tries to get to full guard but Norris has control of the leg.

Norris has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lautakasa clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Norris doesn't have the hooks in and Lautakasa manages to turn into his guard.

Norris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Norris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norris has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lautakasa's face.
Lautakasa is still in real trouble! Can Norris finish him?
Lautakasa takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Norris's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
