Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Buckner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor God of Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Thor God of Thunder was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
God of Thunder takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Buckner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Buckner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from God of Thunder.
Nice takedown defense from Buckner. No joy for God of Thunder on that attempt.
Horrible takedown by God of Thunder or perhaps it was just good defense by Buckner which made him look bad.
Matt Buckner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thor God of Thunder.
Buckner throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck God of Thunder on the side of the head.

God of Thunder is trying to trip Buckner. He has hold of a leg but Buckner is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. God of Thunder persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buckner tries to kick God of Thunder off but God of Thunder keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Buckner is not content to let God of Thunder control the position.
God of Thunder has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with God of Thunder in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
God of Thunder is nestled in close to Buckner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
God of Thunder seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

God of Thunder throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buckner's waist but Buckner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing God of Thunder off to one side.

Buckner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

God of Thunder is still on wobbly legs! Can Buckner finish him?

Buckner lands a big uppercut and God of Thunder crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but God of Thunder looks OK. Buckner waves God of Thunder back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Buckner throws a shot from downtown. God of Thunder moves away and avoids it.
Buckner tries to clinch up but God of Thunder circles away and keeps his distance.
God of Thunder has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Buckner finds it's way round the side to connect with God of Thunder's head.

Buckner pounces like a tiger and cracks God of Thunder with a vicious hook! God of Thunder is down but not out! Buckner follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
