Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Travis Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricky Magellan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green throws a low kick, looking for Magellan's leg but Magellan calmly moves out of range.
Green misses with a low kick.
Green dives in and grabs Magellan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Magellan pushes down on Green's head and hops out.
Travis Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Magellan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Green is trying to defend but Magellan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Magellan trying to mount his opponent but Green defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Green looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Magellan is working for a kimura but Green is defending it quite comfortably.
Green wants to get back to full guard.

Magellan wants to control but Green is keeping him busy.

Magellan wants to work for an arm triangle but Green is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Green makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Green.

Green looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Green escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magellan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Magellan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Magellan wants to get up but he can't break Green's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Magellan wants to pass the guard but Green is keeping the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Magellan is looking to work some ground and pound but Green has wrist control.

Magellan trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Magellan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Green dives on top into guard.

Green prevents Magellan from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magellan is pulling down on Green's head. It's preventing any offense from Green, at least for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Green drops back, looking for a kneebar! Magellan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Magellan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Magellan!

Green makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Green.

Green is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Magellan defends well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Green avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Green dominated that round.

and Magellan counters with a single leg into guard. Green didn't expect that.
Magellan wants to pass the guard but Green is keeping the position.
Green keeping moving, preventing Magellan from controlling successfully.

Travis Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Magellan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Green closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Green lands in his opponent's guard.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Magellan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Magellan's legs - danger averted.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magellan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Magellan is breathing heavily.
Magellan is trying to control the position but Green postures up.
Green pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Magellan is keeping the position for now.

Magellan has his feet on Green's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Green dives in and grabs Magellan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Magellan pushes down on Green's head and hops out.
Green throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Magellan's waist but Magellan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Green off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Green changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Magellan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Magellan is pushing Green's head away, looking to escape. Green manages to hold on to the position though.

Green is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Magellan defends it well.

Green is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Magellan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Green.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Green is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Magellan is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
