The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Van Swanson tries to avoid it but Messia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Van Swanson to the ground. Van Swanson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters circling a little - Van Swanson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Van Swanson gets a clinch.

Van Swanson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Van Swanson.
