Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi comes to the cage accompanied by Scary. The crowd seem to be enjoying Patton's choice of entrance music: Marilyn Manson - Born Villain . Takanori Gomi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Michael Patton's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi misses with a kick to the body.
Gomi avoids the head kick by Patton.
Patton swings for the body but Gomi moves out of range.
Gomi looks for a takedown but Patton sprawls well.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Patton lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gomi has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gomi and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Patton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gomi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Takanori Gomi will probably get the nod.

Patton leaves Gomi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gomi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Patton did well to prevent Gomi getting side control.

Patton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Takanori Gomi.
