Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Kendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez has chosen Trap Door as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Kendricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Tiago Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kendricks napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kendricks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mendez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mendez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kendricks takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Mendez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kendricks tries to improve position but can't.
Mendez lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mendez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kendricks down.

Mendez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kendricks shoots for a takedown but Mendez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mendez takes the fight into the clinch.
Mendez tries for a takedown but Kendricks manages to get underhooks.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Mendez has Kendricks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kendricks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kendricks is trying to pull guard but Mendez has him pressed against the cage.
Nice body punch from Mendez - that landed with a thud.
Mendez prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackson Kendricks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kendricks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mendez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mendez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Kendricks is trying to pull guard but Mendez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mendez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Kendricks wants a takedown.

Mendez works over Kendricks with some ground and pound from guard.
Mendez won't allow Kendricks to sweep him here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Kendricks has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mendez has passed into side control.
Kendricks looks to move to half guard but instead Mendez has passed into mount! Damn!
BOOM! Mendez connects with a massive shot to the dome!


It looks like Jackson Kendricks has been cut.
Mendez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mendez lands a couple of good shots and Kendricks has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

During a confident post fight interview, Tiago Mendez thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
