PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaius Arabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin comes to the cage accompanied by 変化を通過. The crowd seem to be enjoying Arabi's choice of entrance music: Genesis - Justice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuujin throws a looping overhand right but Arabi ducks down to avoid it.
Arabi moves out of range of the body kick.
Arabi throws a shot to the body.
Arabi takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nice defenses there by Arabi.
Fuujin looks for the body kick but Arabi saw that one coming.

Arabi dives in and scores a takedown into Fuujin's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Arabi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Fuujin manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Fuujin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arabi keeps working.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fuujin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fuujin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fuujin advances to mount.

Arabi is working to get back to half guard.
Arabi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Fuujin can't control as he wanted to and Arabi manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Fuujin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Fuujin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Fuujin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Arabi is looking to get to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Arabi is looking for a sweep. Fuujin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Arabi tries to lock up and control but Fuujin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fuujin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Arabi is looking to escape.
Fuujin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Arabi looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shinichi Fuujin dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A combination from Arabi does no damage.
Fuujin throws a head kick but Arabi moves out of range.
Arabi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fuujin tries to avoid it but Arabi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fuujin to the ground. Fuujin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Arabi misses with a looping left.
Fuujin throws a nice inside leg kick.
Fuujin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Arabi if he has to take too many more of those.
A jab from Arabi misses.
Arabi lands a nice shot to the body.
Fuujin scores with a jab to the head.
Arabi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Fuujin misses with a body kick.
Arabi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fuujin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Arabi misses with a takedown attempt - Fuujin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fuujin, right into the meat.

Arabi blocks a low kick nicely.
Fuujin dips to his left and cracks Arabi with an uppercut!
Arabi shoots in looking for a takedown but Fuujin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Arabi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shinichi Fuujin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gaius Arabi.
Fuujin clobbers Arabi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Gaius Arabi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arabi misses with a two punch combination.
A left lands for Arabi.
Fuujin throws a push kick but Arabi slaps the foot to one side.
Fuujin connects with a leg kick. Arabi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Arabi takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Fuujin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Arabi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Fuujin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arabi avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Fuujin - that will leave a mark!
Arabi throws a shot from downtown. Fuujin moves away and avoids it.

Arabi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Arabi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Fuujin throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Arabi's head.

Arabi is rocked!
Shinichi Fuujin is winning the standup battle so far.
Fuujin lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Arabi falls backwards - clearly groggy! Fuujin dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shinichi Fuujin!
