The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Matthews crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Karalis - the referee stops the clock and Matthews gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Karalis. Matthews manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Matthews is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
That kick from Matthews tenderised Karalis's leg. Karalis is trying to keep his angry face on.

Matthews has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Matthews there as he acknowledges the shot.
Matthews has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Karalis finds it's way round the side to connect with Matthews's head.

Some bone on bone action there as Matthews checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Alysian Karalis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Karalis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Matthews's head.

Matthews rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Karalis counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Matthews out cold! What a finish! Karalis is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
