Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Pistoletov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Era Ojdanic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Pistoletov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Era Ojdanic!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ojdanic shoots in looking for a takedown. Pistoletov tries to sprawl out of it but Ojdanic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pistoletov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pistoletov enables Ojdanic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pistoletov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pistoletov wants to get back to his feet but Ojdanic is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ojdanic has control of Pistoletov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pistoletov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Pistoletov tries to bum rush Ojdanic with a series of wild strikes but Ojdanic uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pistoletov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Era Ojdanic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
