Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Swanson manages to avoid it.
Swanson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nelson lands with an overhand left.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nelson throws the left hand but Swanson avoids the punch easily.

Swanson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nelson.

and Swanson counters by moving into the clinch.

Swanson tightens his grip and picks Nelson up, before dumping him to the ground. Nelson manages to land in guard.
Swanson wants to get up but he can't break Nelson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Swanson wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position.
Swanson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Roy Nelson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Nelson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Nelson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Swanson tries to score a body lock takedown but Nelson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Swanson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Nelson can't fight it off and eventually Swanson manages to take the fight to the floor. Nelson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Swanson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Swanson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nelson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nelson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nelson!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Nelson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Swanson's hands.
Nelson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Swanson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nelson looks to throw the jab but Swanson is out of range.
Nelson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Swanson moves away from the strike by Nelson.

Nelson misses with a punch to the body.

Swanson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nelson catches Swanson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jab, jab by Nelson - just one landing.
John Swanson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roy Nelson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Roy Nelson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Nelson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
