Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nobunaga Oda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Amaral!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amaral scores with a decent looking hook.
Oda throws a head kick that misses
and Amaral counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Amaral scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Oda shoots in looking for a takedown. Amaral tries to sprawl out of it but Oda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Amaral manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Amaral moves into range and clinches up with Oda.
Amaral trying to control the position but instead, Oda has worked for underhooks and has pushed Amaral into the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Oda.
Oda takes a shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Amaral has Oda pressed against the cage, preventing Oda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Amaral gets through Oda's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Nobunaga Oda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Amaral lands a really nice looking cross but Oda seems unphased.

Oda walks forward, straight into a front kick from Amaral.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Amaral keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Amaral slaps away a takedown attempt from Oda, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Oda is breathing heavily.
Amaral throws a right and a left that both miss.
Amaral lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Amaral counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Amaral.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice body punch from Oda - that landed with a thud.
Amaral gets through Oda's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Oda goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Oda. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Good leg kick by Amaral there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Oda looks for a takedown but Amaral sprawls well.
Oda takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Nice sprawl there from Amaral as Oda shoots in.
Amaral cracks Oda with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
No joy there for Amaral, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oda takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Horrible takedown by Oda or perhaps it was just good defense by Amaral which made him look bad.

Amaral bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Oda's head backwards.
Oda doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Amaral counters with a one-two to the body.


Oda is rocked!
A head kick by Amaral - that's a beauty! Oda is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Amaral can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
