Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Barrera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A shot to the liver by Barrera. Beautiful body shot.
Barrera closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gracie's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barrera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barrera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gracie has hold of Barrera's hands but Barrera slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Gracie wants to improve his position but Barrera is controlling well.
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Barrera finish him?
Barrera slips a nice elbow through Gracie's hands, connecting with Gracie's forehead.
Barrera is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Barrera is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Barrera is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well.
Barrera scores with a big shot! Gracie's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Gracie! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
