PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ister Band (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim McSlim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McSlim misses with a two punch combination.
Nice sprawl there from McSlim as Band shoots in.
McSlim throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McSlim fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McSlim rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Band counters with a stiff right hand.
McSlim throws an overhand right that lands on Band's shoulder, as Band tries to avoid the shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McSlim, as that shot connected.
Band shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McSlim but McSlim pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Band closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McSlim to the mat! McSlim manages to get full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McSlim escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Band gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Band accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Band tries to free his leg and advance position but McSlim is retaining full guard.

McSlim is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Band throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McSlim works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Band in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

McSlim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Band can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Band stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McSlim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Band maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! McSlim could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Band has cracked it and McSlim is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Band!
