Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joon Joon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrice Romeu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joon Joon looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joon throws a head kick but Romeu moves out of range.

Romeu drives through and clinches with Joon against the cage.
Romeu has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Joon after a bit of a struggle.
Joon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Romeu is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Romeu shoots in for a double leg but Joon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Romeu counters with a shoot takedown. Joon fights it but they end up in guard.
Joon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Romeu has gone for a leg lock! Joon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Romeu's guard.
Romeu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Joon is working for a kimura but Romeu is defending it quite comfortably.
Joon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Joon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Romeu looks like he's trying to stand up.
Romeu tries to roll over but Joon keeps him under control.

Romeu moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Romeu is looking for a triangle here but Joon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Romeu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Joon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Joon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Joon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Romeu gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Joon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Romeu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Joon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Joon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Joon!

Joon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Romeu knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Romeu is looking for a sweep. Joon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Joon tries to stand but can't do so whilst Romeu controls his leg.
Joon is trying to control. Romeu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Joon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Romeu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Joon.

Romeu parries the strikes from Joon easily there. Joon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Romeu to escape.
Romeu looks to move to half guard but instead Joon has passed into mount! Damn!

Joon throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Romeu wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Joon.
Joon prevents Romeu from getting the reversal.
Romeu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Joon Joon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Patrice Romeu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Romeu tries to lock up and control but Joon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well Romeu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
