Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cole Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole Lee could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mike Martin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Martin!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee fails in his attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Martin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Martin connects with a body shot.
Martin throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely.

Martin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Martin controls the pace.
Lee wants to sweep but no luck.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mike Martin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Martin throws a good cross that connects.
Martin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Lee tries to clinch but Martin moves out of range.

Martin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Martin stands and steps away. Lee gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Martin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Martin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lee sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Lee has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Martin uses from the top position.

Martin throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely.
Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Martin, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Martin against the cage but Martin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Martin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lee takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Martin tries to bum rush Lee with a series of wild strikes but Lee uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lee drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Lee avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Martin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Lee tries to keep at a distance but Martin has taken the fight into the clinch.

Martin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cole Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lee takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Martin closes the distance and clinches.

Martin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Martin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Martin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Lee takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Martin scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Martin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Martin cracks a nice hook into Lee's ribs.
Martin misses with a two punch combination.
Martin lands with a right hand.
Martin misses with a few strikes there.
Lee connects with a looping right hand.
Lee ducks right into an uppercut from Martin.
Martin tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Martin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Martin takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses.
Lee wants to clinch.
Martin misses the shot to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Martin.
Lee is looking for a sweep.
Lee is trying to control Martin's posture but Martin avoids it.
Martin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Martin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lee takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Martin happy to just control the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Lee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Martin connects with a nice short shot to Lee's temple.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mike Martin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Let's hope that Martin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
