Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Atle Chairman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Hicks!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chairman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hicks throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hicks misses with a series of wild punches.
Chairman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hicks sprawls well. Hicks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chairman gets slowly back to his feet.
Hicks is looking to clinch but Chairman is avoiding it.
Hicks throws a series of punches but Chairman avoids them all with ease.
Hicks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chairman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hicks somewhat.
No joy there for Hicks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
George Hicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hicks tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chairman swivels and escapes.
Chairman shoots in looking for a takedown but Hicks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chairman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hicks swings wildly with an uppercut but Chairman uses good head movement to avoid it.

Chairman wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hicks has him pressed against the cage.
Hicks has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chairman after a bit of a struggle.
The referee calls for Chairman to work.
Hicks avoiding damage as Chairman throws knees to the body.
Chairman tries to score a body lock takedown but Hicks shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hicks tries to circle away but Chairman has him pinned against the cage.
Chairman wants to break free but Hicks has control.

Chairman misses with a hook to the ribs.
Chairman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Hicks breaks the clinch.

Chairman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hicks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chairman circles away quickly and effectively.
Hicks bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hicks lands with a hook. Chairman tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hicks scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hicks fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chairman avoids it really well and circles away.
Hicks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hicks wants it to stay on the feet.
Hicks throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Chairman takes the fight into the clinch.
Chairman struggles to land a body shot inside as Hicks controls his hands.

Chairman is trying to drag Hicks to the mat but Hicks just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hicks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chairman's efforts to push away.
Chairman has Hicks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hicks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Chairman throws a strike but Hicks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Chairman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hicks looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Chairman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hicks's waist but Hicks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chairman off to one side.
Hicks doesn't manage to clinch there - Chairman circles away.
Chairman dodges the punch combination from Hicks.
Hicks throws a head kick that half lands.


Chairman is rocked!
Hicks grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Chairman takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Hicks cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
