Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Juan Barrantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Massa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crunch! Massa slams his shin into Barrantes's torso.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barrantes is defended easily by Massa.

Massa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Barrantes to the ground. Massa is now in Barrantes's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Massa controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Massa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Barrantes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Barrantes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Massa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barrantes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Massa is aware though and is defending well.
Massa wants to control from the top but Barrantes keeps moving.

Massa has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Barrantes to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Massa is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Barrantes pulls down on the head and he's put Massa to sleep! This one is all over!
