Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henry Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Varona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Carlos Varona was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Varona!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz throws the left hand but Varona avoids the punch easily.
Varona moves forwards but Cruz connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Varona moves away from the strike by Cruz.
Cruz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Varona fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cruz sprawls well initially but Varona persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Varona maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Cruz could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Varona has cracked it and Cruz is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Varona!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carlos Varona!
