Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lars Thunstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thunstrom comes to the cage accompanied by Prodigy - Spitfire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins digs a good hook to Thunstrom's body.
Hopkins connects with an inside leg kick.
Lars Thunstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopkins scores with a leg kick.
Thunstrom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thunstrom punishes Hopkins's body with a nice straight punch.
Hopkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thunstrom is fending him off so far but Hopkins persists. Nope, Thunstrom circles away and we're back to standing.
Hopkins fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Thunstrom checks it well.

The crowd cheers as Thunstrom lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hopkins doesn't seem phased though.

Hopkins lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Thunstrom throws a body punch but Hopkins moves out of range.

Hopkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thunstrom.
Horrible takedown by Thunstrom or perhaps it was just good defense by Hopkins which made him look bad.
Hopkins turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A right handed body shot lands from Thunstrom.
Hopkins tries to work over Thunstrom's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Hopkins has Thunstrom pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hopkins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thunstrom tumbling to the mat - Hopkins dives into Thunstrom's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hopkins working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Thunstrom's head.
Hopkins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hopkins content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Thunstrom has locked up a guillotine! Thunstrom's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hopkins is holding on here and Thunstrom must be using up a lot of energy. Hopkins has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Thunstrom gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
