The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McAlister takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mir gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and McAlister counters by moving into the clinch.
Mir tries to land knees in the clinch but McAlister avoids the damage to the body.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by McAlister.
Mir throws a hook but McAlister avoids it easily.
Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McAlister tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McAlister to the ground. McAlister escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mir throws a nice looking combination but McAlister bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mir tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mir throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mir tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McAlister manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McAlister swats away the attempt to clinch by Mir.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by McAlister.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McAlister moves out of range of the body kick.
Mir lands a slapping body shot.
Frankestein Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mir closes this distance looking for a takedown but McAlister circles away.
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up but McAlister swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McAlister tries to sprawl but Mir drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Mir is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from McAlister as he works his way to full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McAlister holds on and takes a little breather.

Mir tries to advance to mount but McAlister denies him.
McAlister is looking to reverse the position.
Mir tries to move to mount but McAlister blocks the move with his legs.

Mir passes to full mount! That's big trouble for McAlister!

Mir is working for a guillotine from mount but McAlister frees his head quite easily.

Mir goes for an armbar but McAlister turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from McAlister.

Mir is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McAlister defends well.
Mir wants to sweep but no luck.

Mir goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McAlister as he jumps to the side.
Mir just misses with a punch to the body.
Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McAlister is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mir goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Mir darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mir is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McAlister can do to turn this around?
McAlister keeping hold of Mir's head, controlling as best he can.

McAlister is trying to maintain the position but Mir is very close to passing his half guard.
McAlister is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mir landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
McAlister tries to roll over but Mir keeps him under control.
Mir is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Mir has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! McAlister is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frankestein Mir!

Frankestein Mir really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Takeover logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
