Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Wauler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koa Polunu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wauler's entrance music is Good 'ol Boy. A fine choice. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koa Polunu!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polunu stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wauler lands a jab to the nose.
Wauler checks a leg kick nicely.
Wauler loads up on a big right hand but Polunu slips the punch.
Wauler scores with a jab. Polunu acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Wauler swings for the body but Polunu moves out of range.
Wauler swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Polunu.
Polunu dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wauler. That did some damage!
Wauler moves in looking to clinch but Polunu pushes him off.
Polunu throws a front kick aimed at Wauler's knee but Wauler avoids it well.
Wauler sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wauler moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Polunu lands a jab to Wauler's midsection.
Polunu throws a looping overhand right but Wauler ducks down to avoid it.
Polunu throws a low kick but Wauler moves out of range easily.
Polunu cracks Wauler with a good jab.

Wauler misses with a body punch
and Polunu counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Polunu scores with a hook to the body. Wauler takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Wauler throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Polunu lands an overhand right.
Polunu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wauler.
Wauler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Polunu doesn't seem bothered though.
Wauler throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A combination from Polunu does no damage.
Wauler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Polunu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Polunu attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Wauler takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wauler wants to control but Polunu is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Polunu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wauler is just riding it out for now. Polunu eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wauler wants to get back to his feet.
Polunu misses with a head shot. Wauler uses the momentum to regain guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Polunu lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Wauler tries to close the distance and clinch but Polunu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Polunu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Polunu throws out a leg kick but Wauler moves out of range and Polunu only half commits.
Polunu will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Koa Polunu seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Polunu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wauler throws out the jab.

Wauler with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Polunu to score with a decent uppercut.

The crowd cheers as Polunu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wauler doesn't seem phased though.

Polunu throws a sloppy strike and Wauler uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Wauler has ended up in Polunu's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wauler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Polunu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wauler has managed to get both his arms back between Polunu's legs - danger averted.
Koa Polunu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Polunu pulls Wauler in close to prevent any damage.
Wauler is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wauler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Polunu is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Koa Polunu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Wauler takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Glenn Wauler wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Wauler misses the shot to the body.
Polunu misses with a wild combination.
Wauler waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Polunu.
Polunu throws the left hand but Wauler avoids the punch easily.
Polunu moves out of range of the strikes.
Wauler ducks right into an uppercut from Polunu.

Wauler closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Polunu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wauler has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wauler and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Koa Polunu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Polunu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wauler is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Wauler looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Koa Polunu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Polunu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
