The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp shoots in and drives through. Makarov sprawls well.

Sapp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Makarov did well to prevent Sapp getting side control.
Sapp trying to mount his opponent but Makarov defends it.
Sapp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Makarov keeps working.
Sapp is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Makarov is controlling Sapp's trapped leg to prevent Sapp from advancing to side control.
Sapp trying to control the action but Makarov is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Wade Sapp.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sapp.
Makarov shoots for a takedown but Sapp saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Makarov tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Sapp shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sapp showed some decent athleticism there.

Sapp is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Makarov is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
