The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington keeps the fight on the outside.
Dennis Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Washington on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Szczerbiec connects with a crisp jab.
Szczerbiec takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Washington throws a body punch but Szczerbiec moves out of range.

and Szczerbiec cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Szczerbiec with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Washington scores with a jab. Szczerbiec acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Washington on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Washington jabs at Szczerbiec's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Szczerbiec is looking to slow Washington down with leg kicks.
Szczerbiec feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Washingtons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The fighters circling - Washington throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Washington throws a series of punches but Szczerbiec avoids them all with ease.
Washington misses with a double jab.
Crunch! Szczerbiec slams his shin into Washington's torso.

Washington throws a lazy right hand but Szczerbiec sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Washington on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Szczerbiec. Szczerbiec obviously looking to wear him down.
Washington throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Washington thows a left - swing and a miss!
Szczerbiec fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Washington.
Szczerbiec catches Washington with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Szczerbiec tries to clinch up but Washington circles away and keeps his distance.
Washington with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Szczerbiec to score with a decent uppercut.

and Szczerbiec counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Washington uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Szczerbiec.

Washington gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Szczerbiec gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Washington is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
