Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Alverez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Hardy looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alverez.
Hardy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hardy.

Alverez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hardy's half guard.

Alverez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Alverez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Alverez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dave Alverez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Alverez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hardy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alverez moves away.

Alverez uses his free foot to push down on Hardy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hardy.

Alverez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hardy manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Alverez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hardy is trying to control Alverez's posture but Alverez avoids it.

Alverez stands up and beckons Hardy to his feet.

Alverez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hardy was covering up waiting for the punch and Alverez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alverez shoots for a takedown but Hardy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hardy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alverez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hardy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Alverez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Dave Alverez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Alverez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hardy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alverez is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hardy won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Alverez off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dave Alverez!
