The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Timoko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matrix circles away.
Matrix shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Timoko as he jumps to the side.

Taylor Timoko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Matrix.

Matrix drives through with a takedown into Timoko's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Matrix wants to pass the guard but Timoko is keeping the position.
Timoko wants to stand and escape but Matrix is having none of it.
Matrix throws a big right hand that misses.

Matrix drops back looking for a leg! Timoko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Timoko manages to kick Matrix off! Matrix jumps back into Timoko's guard.

Matrix postures up in Timoko's guard and throws a big left but Timoko blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matrix pushes down on Timoko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Timoko wants to control but Matrix is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Matrix is pressing down on Timoko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Timoko is holding on for now.
Matrix not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Timoko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matrix on the ground.

Matrix is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Timoko sees it coming and defends easily.

Matrix winds up and cracks Timoko with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Matrix maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Timoko could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Matrix has cracked it and Timoko is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Matrix!
