Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Izaac Kari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Calzaghe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kari comes to the cage accompanied by Judas Priest - Painkiller . There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Izaac Kari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Calzaghe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kari pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kari lands with an overhand left.
Kari displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Calzaghe.
Calzaghe shoots for a double leg takedown but Kari sprawls well. He's pushed Calzaghe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kari fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Calzaghe.
Calzaghe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kari tries to avoid it but Calzaghe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kari to the ground. Kari escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Izaac Kari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Calzaghe.
Calzaghe takes one to the chin there.
Calzaghe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kari circles away.
Kari connects with a crisp jab.
Calzaghe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Calzaghe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Calzaghe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kari is just riding it out for now. Calzaghe eventually gives up the hold.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kari holds on and takes a little breather.

Kari feints and then cracks Calzaghe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Calzaghe down.
Calzaghe shoots for a takedown but Kari saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Calzaghe closes the distance and clinches up with Kari, looking for a takedown. Calzaghe pushes Kari against the cage but Kari circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kari dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Calzaghe. That did some damage!

Kari throws the left hand but Calzaghe avoids the punch easily.
Kari lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Calzaghe.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kari. Calzaghe shrugs it off though.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kari.
Kari lands with a shot to the body.
Kari thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Calzaghe if he has to take too many more of those.
Jab, jab by Kari - just one landing.
Calzaghe shoots in and drives through. Kari sprawls well.
Kari connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Kari fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Calzaghe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kari thumps Calzaghe with a low kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Calzaghe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kari.
and Kari counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Calzaghe! He's just covering up as Kari starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Izaac Kari!
During a confident post fight interview, Izaac Kari thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
