Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yoki Kurinoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Tainaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tainaka is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by BATTLE FUNKASTIC. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tainaka throws a right and a left that Kurinoshi avoids nicely.
Tainaka misses the shot to the body.
Kurinoshi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kurinoshi dodges the punch combination from Tainaka.
Tainaka lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kurinoshi misses with a combination
and Tainaka counters with a nice uppercut.

Tainaka throws a body punch but Kurinoshi moves out of range.

Kurinoshi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kurinoshi showed some decent athleticism there.

Tainaka makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Tainaka throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Yoki Kurinoshi has been cut.
Kurinoshi tries to clinch up but Tainaka circles away and keeps his distance.
Tainaka lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tainaka.

Tainaka throws a right hand that Kurinoshi ducks under and follows up with a left that Kurinoshi also avoids with ease.
Shinji Tainaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tainaka thows a body shot but no joy.
Kurinoshi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

A left and a right from Tainaka both land. Nice combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tainaka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kurinoshi tries for a takedown but Tainaka circles away easily
and Tainaka counters with a big head kick but Kurinoshi shrugs it off.

and Tainaka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tainaka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Tainaka scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kurinoshi is breathing heavily.
Tainaka connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kurinoshi. Kurinoshi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kurinoshi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Tainaka misses with a body shot.
Tainaka fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kurinoshi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A punch lands to the side of Kurinoshi 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Tainaka looks to land a combination. Kurinoshi sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Tainaka misses with a double jab.
Tainaka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kurinoshi drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kurinoshi stops Tainaka from standing up.
Tainaka is controlling Kurinoshi's posture.

Tainaka has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kurinoshi off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kurinoshi takes one on the button.
Tainaka misses with a straight right.
Kurinoshi shoots for a takedown but Tainaka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoki Kurinoshi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tainaka thuds his right hand into Kurinoshi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kurinoshi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tainaka.
Tainaka tries to bum rush Kurinoshi with a series of wild strikes but Kurinoshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kurinoshi takes a jab right on the kisser.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kurinoshi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kurinoshi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nice jab there from Tainaka.
Tainaka bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kurinoshi's head.
Tainaka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kurinoshi.
No joy there for Tainaka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tainaka's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Tainaka duly obliges.
Tainaka punishes Kurinoshi's body with a nice straight punch.

A jab-cross combination lands for Tainaka and sends Kurinoshi crashing to the mat! Tainaka follows him down to the mat - Kurinoshi regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tainaka looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Oh Kurinoshi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kurinoshi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kurinoshi seems to have got his legs back now.

Kurinoshi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Yoki Kurinoshi's cut is getting worse.
Tainaka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kurinoshi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kurinoshi misses with a body kick.
Tainaka throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kurinoshi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tainaka!
Tainaka wants to hold on but Kurinoshi pushes him away.
Tainaka trying desperately to get to his feet.
Tainaka keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Tainaka wants to control but Kurinoshi is having none of it.
Tainaka tries to control Kurinoshi's body but Kurinoshi pushes him off. Tainaka squirms to his side and now Kurinoshi has his back!

Tainaka is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Kurinoshi on his back. Kurinoshi looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Tainaka has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
