Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Chalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Nichols (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chalas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Chubby Jag-U.O.E.N.O. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luis Chalas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Zack Nichols!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols throws a sloppy head kick and Chalas moves out of range easily.
Nichols misses with the combination.
Nichols getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Chalas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nichols but Nichols pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nichols doesn't manage to clinch there - Chalas circles away.
Chalas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nichols tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chalas is in Nichols's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Chalas wants to work for an arm triangle but Nichols is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chalas trying to control the action but Nichols is working from the bottom.
Nichols looks like he's trying to stand up.
Chalas is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nichols tries to roll over but Chalas keeps him under control.
Nichols wants to get back to his feet.
Luis Chalas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Chalas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Chalas is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nichols is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
