Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Noel Severino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edit Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noel Severino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edit Johnson!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severino stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Severino wants it to stay on the feet.
Danga de danga de dang - Severino scores with a four punch combination!
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Severino wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Severino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Severino is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Severino is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Severino manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Severino's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Johnson advances position into side control!

Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Severino has escaped the position, nice work there.

Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Severino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Severino is looking to reverse the position.
Johnson tries to move to mount but Severino blocks the move with his legs.

Severino manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Severino is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Severino to get the leverage.

Severino seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt.
Johnson manages to get to full guard.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Severino defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Severino defends it easily.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Severino can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Severino throws a big right hand that misses.

Severino is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Severino got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Severino has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Severino throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Severino is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edit Johnson dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Severino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Severino avoids it really well and circles away.
Noel Severino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edit Johnson.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Severino connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Johnson's hands.
Severino throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.
A telegraphed right hand from Severino misses the target.
A combination from Severino does no damage.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Severino, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Severino against the cage but Severino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Noel Severino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Johnson.

Severino is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Johnson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Severino defends it well.
Severino gets back to full guard.

Johnson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Severino to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Johnson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Severino pulls down on the head and he's put Johnson to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Noel Severino!
Noel Severino gave a mention to Untouchable Fight Nutrition Q160 $125 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
