The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter slaps away a takedown attempt from Martinez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martinez is defended easily by Carter.
Carter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Martinez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carter on his heels. He'll look to pass Carter's guard now, I'm sure.

Carter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryan Carter just wasn't active enough.
Martinez shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Martinez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ryan Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alpo Martinez.
Carter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Carter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Martinez has time to react.
Carter looks to land a combination but Martinez avoids it well.
No luck for Martinez with that takedown attempt.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Martinez on the side of the head.
Martinez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away.
A left lands for Carter.
Alpo Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martinez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Carter tries to bench press Martinez off him but Martinez keeps the position.
Martinez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Martinez wants to control but Carter is keeping him busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Carter lands a glancing blow to the side of Martinez's head.

Carter sends Martinez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Carter is motioning to the referee to let Martinez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Martinez is rocked!

Martinez tries for a takedown but Carter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Martinez is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Martinez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Martinez seems to have recovered his senses.
Carter cracks Martinez with a hook to the temple - Martinez is on wobbly legs here! Carter swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Martinez falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Carter wins by TKO!
