PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Nis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Violence- a day to remember as his entrance music. Mikhail Nis looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Nis sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Nis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nis connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Nis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jones wants to control but Nis is keeping busy.
Nis is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jones pulls Nis in close to prevent any damage.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Nis stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
