Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Austin's choice of entrance music: Bodies (Drowning Pool). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Rage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Calvin Austin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin avoids the body shot from Rage.

Austin darts in and clinches Rage up against the cage.

Austin has picked Rage up - he's going for a ride! Austin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Austin content to control rather than advance.
Rage tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rage is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rage is trying to stand back up but Austin is controlling him
Austin is looking to take a break and control but Rage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Austin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Rage tries to clinch but Austin moves away

and Austin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rage won't be happy with that.
Austin looks gassed!
Rage throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rage tries to escape but Austin is in control.
Rage parries the strikes from Austin easily there. Austin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rage to escape.
Rage is not content to let Austin control the position.
Austin lands some shots froms side control.
Rage is looking for a sweep.
Austin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rage is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rage sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Rage wants to get back to his feet.

Austin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rage tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Austin counters with a single leg into guard. Rage didn't expect that.
Austin passes into half guard.
Austin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Rage on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Austin wants to control but Rage is keeping him busy.
Rage tries to roll over but Austin keeps him under control.
Austin looks to land a strike but Rage avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Austin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Rage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Austin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Austin won't allow Rage to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Austin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rage swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Austin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rage darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Rage misses with a head kick.
A combination from Rage does no damage.
Rage throws a series of strikes that have Austin backpedaling.


Austin is rocked!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Rage, right into the meat.
Austin is still on wobbly legs! Can Rage finish him?
Austin shoots in but no luck this time.
Rage throws a nice looking combination but Austin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
James Rage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rage lands with a big right hook that stumbles Austin - he's out on his feet here! Rage follows up with another monster hook that separates Austin from consciousness! Austin falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Rage stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Rage!
