Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Waddell!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Waddell.
You can see the frustration on Brooks's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brooks manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brooks is looking to improve his position.
Waddell seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Brooks is looking to control Waddell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brooks avoid being mounted?

Waddell stands up from half guard.
Waddell avoids the head kick by Brooks.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Waddell prevents Brooks from improving his position.
Waddell is trying to control the action in half guard but Brooks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Brooks looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Waddell pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brooks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Waddell keeps working.
Brooks thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Waddell's head.

Brooks frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Waddell is squirming around, avoiding Brooks's attempts to control the action.

Brooks goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Waddell is on top in guard.
Brooks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Waddell gets to his feet - Brooks follows without any prompting.

Brooks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brooks doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Waddell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Waddell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Waddell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Brooks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Waddell pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Brooks tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Waddell smiles and moves away.

I would just about give that final round to William Waddell.
I've got Waddell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
