Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hao Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense.

Wang clinches up with Khan and pushes him back against the cage.
Khan effectively controlling the action here.
Wang looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Wang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Wang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Khan won't be happy with that.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Khan is looking to regain half guard here but Wang keeps moving and retains side control.
Wang in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Wang misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
You can see the frustration on Khan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Khan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wang haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wang off and has taken his back!

Khan is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Wang with him. Wang is trying to defend but Khan has an arm under the chin now! Wang grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Genghis Khan!
A relieved looking Genghis Khan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
