Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Patricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Hardy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patricks shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hardy's guard.
Hardy looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Patricks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Patricks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Patricks seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hardy for as long as he can get away with.
Hardy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Patricks has passed into side control.

Hardy is not content to let Patricks control the position.
Patricks tries to advance to mount but can't.

Patricks has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hardy!

Patricks has control of Hardy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hardy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Patricks pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patricks stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Patricks is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hardy's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Patricks takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Nick Patricks just wasn't active enough.
Patricks misses with a takedown attempt - Hardy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hardy shoots in but no luck this time.
Hardy slips a jab and a cross from Patricks.
Patricks goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Patricks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hardy tries to get to full guard but Patricks has control of the leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Patricks moves into full mount! Hardy won't be happy about that!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hardy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Patricks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hardy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hardy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice sprawl there from Patricks as Hardy shoots in.

Hardy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Patricks stalling.

Patricks has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hardy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Nick Patricks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Patricks scores with punches and elbows.
Hardy is breathing heavily.

Patricks is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Patricks is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hardy knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hardy for a finish.
A lull in the action here.

Patricks has managed to slip his arm under Hardy's chin. This could be all over... yep, Hardy is tapping out! Submission win for Patricks.
