The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horvat is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Swanson.
Horvat fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Ben Swanson has been cut.

Swanson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Swanson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Swanson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Horvat looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Swanson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Horvat's head.
Swanson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Horvat. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Horvat throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Swanson escapes and throws Horvat's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Horvat has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Swanson. Oh but Horvat has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Swanson goes limp - he's gone! Horvat jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
