Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Farr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Welsh National Anthem. Marcus Evans has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tommy Farr!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Evans waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Farr.
Evans throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Farr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Evans tries to bum rush Farr with a series of wild strikes but Farr uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Evans shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Farr eats them both and turns towards Evans to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Evans shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Farr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Evans jabbing away but nothing is landing.

and Evans counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Evans postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Farr wants to stand up but Evans is controlling him.

Evans looks to land a strike but Farr avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans looking to sit in guard and control but Farr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Farr is looking to stand up but Evans won't let him.

Evans pulls Farr in close to his closed guard and prevents Farr from doing any damage or advancing position.
Evans controls Farr momentarily but Farr frees himself.
Farr won't allow Evans to get back to his feet.
Evans has a closed guard, preventing Farr from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Farr on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Evans misses with a jab, cross combination.
Evans throws out a leg kick but Farr moves out of range and Evans only half commits.
Tommy Farr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Evans loads up on a big right hand but Farr slips the punch.
Evans throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Farr counters with a left to the body.
Farr lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Evans at a distance.
Farr fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Farr tries to clinch but Evans is having none of it.
Farr throws a hook to the side of Evans's head but Evans sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Evans throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Farr slips a jab from Evans.

Evans uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Evans is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

enabling Evans to counter with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Evans shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Evans showed some decent athleticism there.
Farr wants to get back to his feet.
Farr wants to stand back up but Evans manages to pass into side control.

Evans cracks Farr with a big right hand but Farr just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Evans is looking to take a break and control but Farr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Evans sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Farr is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Farr is pushing Evans's head away, looking to escape. Evans manages to hold on to the position though.

The strikes coming from Evans are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

and Evans decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Farr's guard.

Evans keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Farr's head.
Farr is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans prevents Farr from getting back to his feet.
Farr keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
Farr wants to stand but Evans is controlling the position.

Evans throws an elbow that misses. Farr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Evans's guard. Nice move by Farr!
Farr wants to get up but he can't break Evans's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marcus Evans has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Evans, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
