The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nishu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pajaanen was covering up waiting for the punch and Nishu finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nishu pushes down on Pajaanen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Nishu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
