And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ihejirika moves out of range as Gunn throws a body kick.
Gunn throws a leg kick
so Ihejirika counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gunn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ihejirika loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ihejirika distracts Gunn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ihejirika trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ihejirika is looking to work some ground and pound but Gunn has wrist control.

Ihejirika got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gunn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ihejirika has managed to get both his arms back between Gunn's legs - danger averted.
Gunn wants to sweep here but Ihejirika controlling him for the moment.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
