The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald walks into a straight right hand from Karhu.
McDonald attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Karhu throws a jab but it's blocked by McDonald.
Karhu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Karhu tries to clinch but McDonald is having none of it.
Woima Karhu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karhu loads up on a big right hand but McDonald slips the punch.
Karhu pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McDonald tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Karhu is able to avoid easily.

Karhu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McDonald pinned against the cage. McDonald gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McDonald is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Karhu tries to close the distance and clinch but McDonald swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Karhu shoots in looking for a takedown but McDonald manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Karhu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
