PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Amok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Kuntz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amok comes to the cage accompanied by Devils. Kuntz has chosen Check My Brain as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriel Amok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rusty Kuntz!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuntz fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Amok checks it well.
Kuntz lands a leg kick that knocks Amok off balance momentarily.
Amok looks to throw the jab but Kuntz is out of range.
Kuntz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kuntz throws a right hand that misses

and Amok counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kuntz blocking the ground and pound attempt from Amok.
Kuntz trying to control but Amok postures up.
Amok throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Amok is keen to just control but Kuntz is a slippery customer.

Kuntz is trying to maintain the position but Amok is very close to passing his half guard.

Amok thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kuntz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Amok throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kuntz has hold of Amok's hands but Amok slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Amok sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kuntz defending well though.
Kuntz regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Amok.
Amok wants to control from the top but Kuntz keeps moving.
Amok has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Amok throws a big elbow that misses.
Amok postures up and lands a big shot to Kuntz's brow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kuntz looking for a sweep. Not yet Kuntz, not yet.
Kuntz controls Amok momentarily but Amok frees himself.
Amok working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kuntz's head.

Kuntz keeping moving, preventing Amok from controlling successfully.
Kuntz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Amok is one step ahead there.

Kuntz has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Amok has passed into side control.
Kuntz is looking to reverse the position.
Kuntz is trying to control Amok's posture but Amok avoids it.
Amok is working Kuntz over with some ground and pound from side control.
Kuntz struggling a bit here.
Amok lands a nice forearm strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kuntz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kuntz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Amok cracks Kuntz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Kuntz can't do much from the bottom here.
Kuntz taking punishment in the form of punches.
Amok working the body and head with strikes.
Amok postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Amok trying to control the position but Kuntz is working away.
Amok cracks Kuntz with a big right hand but Kuntz just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Amok scores with a couple of short elbows.
Amok creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uriel Amok dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Amok pounces like a tiger and cracks Kuntz with a vicious hook! Kuntz is down but not out! Amok follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Uriel Amok!
Uriel Amok seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
