Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chad Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrej Kavelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy comes to the cage accompanied by Run this town. Andrej Kavelin is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chad Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrej Kavelin!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kavelin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hardy.
Kavelin throws a head kick but Hardy moves out of range.
Kavelin takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kavelin moves out of range as Hardy strikes.
Kavelin scores with a punch to the head.
Hardy stuffs the takedown.
Hardy looks to score with a jab to the body but Kavelin is just out of range.
Hardy is looking to chop away at Kavelin's legs.
Hardy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kavelin.
A big left from Hardy misses.
Kavelin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kavelin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hardy.
Hardy swings widly with a right hand

and Kavelin counters by moving into the clinch.

Kavelin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hardy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hardy checks a leg kick nicely.
Hardy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kavelin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hardy throws a wild body kick that Kavelin sees coming a mile off.
Kavelin dives in for a single leg takedown but Hardy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hardy wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kavelin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kavelin scores with a sloppy right hand. Hardy should have avoided that one.
Andrej Kavelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hardy throws a half hearted mid kick.

Hardy swings away with a body shot that misses

and Kavelin moves into the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Kavelin trying to land knees to the body.
Hardy misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hardy tries to circle away but Kavelin has him pinned against the cage.
Hardy misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hardy lands a right hand.

Kavelin breaks from the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kavelin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hardy.
Hardy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kavelin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hardy.
Kavelin lands a lovely overhand right.
Hardy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kavelin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hardy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hardy dodges the punch combination from Kavelin.
Kavelin avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
The fighters circling - Hardy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kavelin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hardy throws out the jab.
Hardy attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hardy is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Kavelin's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Hardy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kavelin on the side of the head.
Kavelin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hardy swings widly with a right hand
and Kavelin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Kavelin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hardy, pushing him back against the cage.
The referee calls for Kavelin to work.
Kavelin prevents a body shot from Hardy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Hardy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kavelin lands a body shot.
Hardy is trying to break the clinch but Kavelin is controlling him.
Hardy being controlled against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Hardy fails to land.
Kavelin blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hardy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kavelin lands a knee to the head.
Kavelin misses with an elbow over the top.
Kavelin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Chad Hardy has been cut.
Hardy is trying to break the clinch but Kavelin is controlling him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kavelin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kavelin lands a head kick that stumbles Hardy and the fighters go to the mat.


Hardy is rocked!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kavelin forces his way into half guard.
Oh Hardy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kavelin is working for a kimura but Hardy is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrej Kavelin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chad Hardy's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kavelin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hardy.
Hardy seems to have got his legs back now.

Oooh a lovely combination from Kavelin sends Hardy down but not out. Kavelin dives into side control looking to finish.
Kavelin wants to control but Hardy is keeping him busy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kavelin lands a strong strike to the head of Hardy. That's dazed him! Kavelin looking to finish here. Hardy is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kavelin lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrej Kavelin!
Andrej Kavelin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Chad Hardy had this to say: 'As always I can do everything through Christ my lord and savior who strengthens me. Without him I wouldn't be here tonight. Don't worry I'll be back.'.
